I love to paint my nails. No outfit ever feels complete with out a fresh coat to compliment and at the same time it is a cost efficient way to spruce up your wardrobe. Believe it or not, I also find it incredibly relaxing to both go to the spa to have my nails “did” or give myself a mani/pedi while watching some great TV. The need to have beautiful finger tips is heightened tenfold on your wedding day when you are flashing around that beautiful ring of yours. While many people opt for acrylic or gel nails with French tips, other prefer a more subtle look or unique hues to finish your outfit. I have listed several different perfect wedding hues for you to choose from. Regardless of your colour preference, you should also start your manicures with clean, bare nails, well manicured and at medium in length with slightly squared tips (a natural oval is also in style).
Here are some trendy and classic nail polish hues to sport on your wedding day.
O.P.I Nail Lacquer “Coney Island Cotton Candy” – a lovely light pink with a hint of peach tones and shimmer from OPI’s Soft Shades Collection
American Apparel Nail Lacquer “Palm Springs” – LOVE THIS HUE! Creamy opaque peach-orange. While many of the other choices listed are wearable at weddings in all seasons, this one is strictly a spring/summer choice
L’Oreal Paris Pro Colour “Chicklette”: -It is an opaque colour, so even though it is a quiet colour, it packs quite a punch
Sally Hansen’s “Navy Baby Frost“: I know its dark, but it is also rich and luxurious with the mixture of black and navy together. The sharp contrast between the delicate white of your gown the the drastic darkness of your nails will create an overall glamorous look for fall
Zoya Nail Polish | “Flora“- A fabulous medium bubble gum pink colour…very wearable on the toes and perfect to brighten up a neutral bridesmaid dress

Odds and ends: While the major 2010 nail trend is to have your toe colour match your nail colour, you may opt to stay bare or sheer on your hands so you don’t detract attention from the dress. If you want to show a little flare on your toes, your choices are endless. From magentas, azure hues, fushias, mauves, taupe or statement jewels, the decisions are endless to express yourself or to let the girls in your wedding party add a little personal flare to their bridesmaids dresses. So go ahead and paint the town….whatever colour you’d like!
