Some of Wedding Gowns to be showcased at the Niagara Autumn Wedding Show
I got a sneak peek at some of the dresses that will be showcased during the Niagara Autumn Wedding Show, which is taking place this Sunday at the Quality Parkway Hotel & Convention Centre, St. Catharines. I adore the versatility of styles and options that have appeared in the 2010-2011 wedding gown collections. Its one of the first seasons in a long time that caters to all types of brides and body types. Not to mention that but many of the gowns are very affordable! Here are some of the gowns I had the privilege of see up close (and even got to try a couple on!)
Dress 1: Private Label Design
This gown is definitely for a bride who wants to add a little Hollywood glamour to her wedding day! What I love about this gown is the ruching that envelops the entire bodice and mid section of the gown , which is great if you have beautiful curves you want to accentuate or the ruching can also also create more curve to a slender frame. The WOW factor not only comes from the slim fit, but also the black accents & jewelled accents that certainly draw the eye across all your fabulous curves! The best thing about this season’s hottest silhouette (the mermaid or the slender A line) is that is looks so hight fashion, but at the same time, these dresses are so sassy, fun & perfect fro dancing the night away! If you want even more room to dance, you can remove the bottom of the skirt for a built in cocktail dress for your reception!

Dress 2: Ella Rosa Design
This is the Ultimate Cinderella Dress with a modern twist of pink! Up close, this gown is GORGEOUS with layers upon layers of silk taffeta with an underlay of embroidered lace on English netting. The bodice is embellished with embroidery & beads which I think would be stunning for a more formal wedding ceremony.
If the pink colour is a little too risky for you, or it doesn’t match your colour scheme, you can also order the gown in white/white, ivory/ivory or white and silver (very festive for the winter season!) Even though this gown has a full cascading silk taffeta hem and full train; it is actually quite light weight and easy to move in. The back of the Ella Rosa gown is a lace up and comes with a removable panel, which makes it easy and comfortable for brides of all sizes. To top it off…its only $1,000!

Dress 3: MoriLee Design
I was so excited that even I got to try on a gorgeous gown, which I might add, has two of the hottest trends of the season! The first trend is an assymetrical neckline, which is great for a bride that wants to draw the eye up to show off a trim upper body, but can do so without having to show too much off (this also offers an alternative to the ever present strapless dress!) I really liked the three strand of jewels across the back of this gown because it added some visual interest to the back of the dress and a little unexpected glamour!
The Second trend is Pockets! Pockets in a bridal dress are huge this season and allows brides to be comfortable, hands free, but still have their lip gloss, tissues and of cell phone close by (you know, so brides and grooms can change their facebook status from “engaged” to “married” immediately;))
The beaded waist sash is also great from accenting a slim waist or creating an illusion of a waist if you are more of a rectangular body shape.
