A: It’s more important for you to trust  who you choose to work with.

A: When the couples tell me I made their wedding rock!!

A: To support local business and talent. Our makeup is locally made and our jewelry and accessories are handmade by our designer in Niagara.

What is your favorite wedding themed movie or tv / reality show of all time?

A: Father of the Bride, Bride Wars

What would you say has been the proudest moment as a business owner in the wedding industry?

A: Opening a new retail location in Grimsby at the Casablanca Winery Inn

In your opinion, what are the biggest trends for the upcoming wedding season?

A: I’m seeing more and more couples leaning towards bold colours and more elegant, modern styles but still keeping a bit of tradition in the mix.

What is the #1 piece of advice you would give to couples planning a wedding in 2013/2014? 

A: Have fun with the planning of your special day and don’t stress over the little things. At the end of it all, the only thing that matters is the love you have for each other.

Why is it important for brides and grooms-to-be to shop locally for the wedding products / services?

A: It certainly saves time and makes planning easier. Local vendors get to know each other’s style from working together and that helps everything come together seamlessly.

What would you say has been the proudest moment as a business owner in the wedding industry?

A: The joy and some times tears of happiness when a bride sees her invitations for the first time.

What will you be showcasing at the Niagara Spring Wedding Show 2013?

A: I have had so many new designs so far this year and I am sure to have lots more by the time the show arrives. They will all be there for everyone to see!

In your opinion, what are the biggest trends for the upcoming wedding season?

A: For photography, the biggest trends are candids, props and trash the dress sessions.

What is the #1 piece of advice you would give to couples planning a wedding in 2013/2014? 

A: Book your venue first location is key. This allows you to picture how your day will look. Hire a professional photographer to take photos, you don’t want someone who will just know how to hold a camera to take “snap shots”.

Why is it important for brides and grooms-to-be to shop locally for the wedding products / services?

A: You receive better customer service at better prices. You want someone who knows the area and won’t have to travel to get to you if there are questions or problems.

What would you say has been the proudest moment as a business owner in the wedding industry?

A: Excellent preservation of their day. Providing beautiful clear images that will last my clients a lifetime.

Wedding Dress Tips and Trends

Every season, it seems there is a re-birth of fashion highlighted in the styles and trends of the iconic wedding dress. Though the event itself plays a major role in the styling of the day’s attire, no item of clothing has undergone the riggers and delights of the evolutionary process more than the wedding gown. 2013 is no different. This year we will see many less traditional styles, with brides opting for shorter, sassy cocktail style dresses. Bold colours will make their mark in accessories and trimmings. Also feather details, multi-layers and beautiful embellishments will help adorn dresses, setting each apart. Form fitting dress have been the style as of late, and again, there will be much opportunity for women to purvey their physique as they walk the aisle. With the plethora of options available to choose from, the task of selecting your dream dress can be daunting. Here are a few tips on how to choose “the one”…

• Decide how much you want to spend. That way you’ll won’t loose your heart to a dress you can’t afford and the sales staff at your bridal shoppe can direct you to the dresses that fit within your budget.
• Do your research. Look through magazines, visit wedding websites and plan a trip to your local wedding show to see what dresses, fabrics, silhouettes and styles appeal to you.
• Keep in mind location. Getting married on the beach or under a gazebo doesn’t necessarily call for a cathedral style gown. So view the overall theme and feel of your wedding day as a good marker for the type of dress to look for and help narrow your search. Also the time of day and year will help you know what materials will best suit you.
• Buy the dress you love. There are just some decisions you have to go with your heart. Everyone says “you know when it’s the dress for you” and that seems to be true for the majority. So if you haven’t found it, keep looking. Have confidence in your taste and what appeals to you.

In your opinion, what are the biggest trends for the upcoming wedding season?
Vintage, rustic decor, lots of lace. Bold colours, crystals, lanterns, birch. 

What is the number one piece of advice you’d give to couples planning a wedding in 2012 / 2013?
Start your planning and bookings way in advance to avoid stress, guaranteeing you availability on the products and services you wish to have on your special day.

What is one of the strangest / oddest / funniest things you’ve experienced since working in the wedding industry? Once a bride asked if she could bring her children to the consultation. Little did I know she was referring to her fish. Long story short, she walks in and I ask where her children are and she shows me containers of betta fish. It was Winter, I guess she didn’t want them to freeze in the car!

What is your favorite wedding themed movie or TV / reality show of all time?
The Wedding Planner

What is your favorite part of the wedding process?
Meeting my brides and transforming their dreams into reality!

Attire: Nude and black are HUGE colours for the wedding party! You will see a return of ornate designs and fabrics such as lace and beaded dresses.  RICHNESS is the key word for fall

Q: What is the number one piece of advice you would give to couples planning a wedding in 2012/2013?

A: Fall and Spring weddings are great to plan! Fall weddings are great for weather conditions, the colours of Fall attire look superb in photos while the vibrancy of Spring can give lots of energy and radiance to your entire wedding theme.

Q: What is one of the funniest things you have experienced since working in the wedding industry?

A: Helping MOB and MOG’s pick out what colours they are going to wear LOL!

Q: What is your favourite wedding themed movie TV/reality show of all time?

A: 27 Dresses!

Behind the “Big Day” Series: The DJ Emporium

One of the main things guests talk about before a wedding is “I wonder what type of music they are going to play?”….and how much fun they had at the wedding is often what they will remember from years to come! Q: In your opinion, what are the biggest trends for the upcoming wedding season?

Q: What is the number one piece of advice you would give to couples planning a wedding in 2012/2013?

A: Believe in the wedding professionals you hire! Remember, you get what you pay for.

Q: What is one of the funniest/strangest things you have experienced since working in the wedding industry?

A: At one wedding, the groom suffered heat stroke, left to the hospital on his own, then returned after dinner to party!

Q: What is your favourite part of the wedding process?

A: PARTY TIME!  Its fun to see everyone cut loose and enjoy themselves!
